We are working with an established Engineering company who are looking for an experienced Production Manager. This role reports into the General Manager and has line management responsibility for the Production Team.
Job Role:
- Plan and delegate priorities on a daily basis as appropriate.
- Manage sickness absence and attendance including authorise holiday requests and arrange any additional cover.
- Ensure team members have sufficient training to fulfil their roles, to cover absent team members and manage flexible working demands.
- Adhere to all documented Quality Procedures.
- Set and run machinery safely (inclusive of sliding and fixed head CNCs machines, with Fanuc controls, lathes, drilling/tapping).
- Carry out first-off and job run inspection of machined parts.
- Co-ordinate and report on monthly production KPIs.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and General Manager to ensure all parts are manufactured in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage and action any machine maintenance.
- Accountable for Tooling Reps and ensure shop floor is well-equipped and support necessary tooling sales and orders.
- Ensure all KPI targets are met in order to achieve profitability (On Time Deliveries, Arrears Management & Quality targets).
- Comply with the company mission, values, quality systems and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and inspiring working environment.
- Take an active part in interviewing and assessing new team members.
- To keep the General Manager informed and updated regularly, especially if any critical problems arise.
- Identify and offer suggestions to improve efficiencies within production.
- Raise concerns regarding undesirable conditions within the organisation and propose potential solutions for improvement.
- Assist the Factory Management team with reasonable ad-hoc requests.
