Noble Recruiting have the pleasure of working with a dedicated Safety Expert Client who are actively recruiting a confident and experienced Electrical Product Safety Engineer to join their friendly and proactive team based out of South London. This role is primarily based at their London office, with hybrid working supported. UK travel will be required as part of investigations, stakeholder engagement and events. This is an externally facing role that requires strong technical credibility, professional judgement and confident stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working within the product safety team, you will lead investigations into electrical products, identify safety risks and develop evidence-based recommendations.
- Conduct detailed technical evaluations of electrical products.
- Produce structured risk assessments on electrical products.
- Develop clear, evidence-based technical reports.
- Monitor relevant product standards and contribute to standards development activity.
- Provide expert technical input to Public Affairs and Communications colleagues.
- Respond to consumer enquiries with authority and clarity.
- Represent Electrical Safety First at meetings, exhibitions and media engagements, including TV and Radio interviews.
What we're looking for:
Essential
- Demonstrable experience in electrical product safety and testing to BS standards.
- Strong understanding of electrotechnical principles.
- Good working knowledge of UK electrical product safety legislation and standards.
- Experience producing detailed technical reports and risk assessments.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Confident, assertive communication skills with the ability to challenge constructively.
- Ability to manage your own investigations and priorities.
- Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience.
- Confident in writing detailed technical reports.
- Have an analytical approach and able to analyse, interpret and deliver information and guidance to a number of different audiences.
Desirable
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IET) is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of technical committees is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others within the charity, as well as those within manufacturers, government officials, and testing laboratories, amongst others.
