CNC Programmer
Basildon, Essex
Full time, Permanent position
Hours: Monday - Thursday 7am - 4:15pm, Friday: 7am-12pm
Salary: £29,000 - £32,000
Our welcoming Client is currently seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join the branch located in Basildon area of Essex.
Main responsibilities of the role include
- Setting up and operating various machining centres
- Writing/editing and adjusting programs at the machine from drawings
- Producing intricate components for use in quality critical markets
- In-process inspection using various hand measuring instruments
- General housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean working environment
- Maintaining machines - reporting any defects or maintenance needed
- Process improvement to ensure output is efficient and cost-effective
Skills and Experience
- Have experience working as a CNC Miller, Machinist or Programmer in a high precision role
- Be able to understand and edit programs (ISO or conversational)
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Have experience of creating part programs from provided solid models and drawings.
- Have a desire to learn new skills
- Have experience in a small batch environment
- Good PC skills (MS Word and Excel)
- Good interpersonal skills, teamwork, hands-on approach and a desire to be proactive and work with minimal supervision
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
