Noble Recruiting have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager for a dynamic and fast-paced logistics environment in Brentwood area of Essex. This is a Permanent, Full Time position from the start! Please note: Candidates MUST have own transport if you wish to apply for this position.
Salary: £46,000 to £52,000 per annum - DOE. Free parking on site.
As the Transport Manager on site, you would be responsible for ensuring commercial vehicle operations comply with strict legal requirements while operating efficiently and oversee driver safety, vehicle maintenance, and operator licensing with this being a hands-on management role.
Main Duties Responsibilities:
- Setting up and maintaining the vehicle files ready for new vehicles.
- Chasing documentation and insurance confirmation for new vehicles.
- Speaking to the designated Agency regarding recruitment and onboarding of new drivers, writing a job description and holding interviews with potential candidates.
- Getting quotes and setting up on the system for vehicle tail lifts and tachographs inspected.
- Contacting companies to get tyre maintenance contracts in place.
- Getting quotes for driver hours management systems to manage their hours and all deliveries.
- Starting the process towards Bronze FORS Certification.
- Completing and maintaining all Risk Assessments.
- Assisting and Overseeing the collection of PODs at the end of the day from the drivers and from the subcontractors.
- Working with the warehouse team to make sure that customer requirements are in place.
- Ensure all drivers have all relevant paperwork and documentation for the multi drop deliveries - ensuring the planned routes are followed and that the customers’ requirements are met as far as deliveries are concerned with Customer SLA's KPI's met and managed.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport operations role.
- Valid Transport Manager CPC qualification is essential.
- Previous experience being named on an Operator Licence or acting as a nominated Transport Manager is highly desirable.
- Experience of FORS accreditation and going through the audit process.
- Strong understanding of operator licence compliance, driver regulations, and transport legislation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage both operational and compliance responsibilities within a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and able to work within a team environment as well as under own initiative.
- Adaptable and able to cope with fluent, changing work requirements.
- Driver own transport - essential due to location of site.
