Business Development Manager

Location: Hybrid role - 1 day in the office (Canvey Island) - the rest split between client meetings

Package: £40,000 - £50,000 base + Car + Commission

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established and growing business operating within the hygiene and facilities services sector.

This is a field-based role covering the South East, with responsibility for identifying new business opportunities, developing strong client relationships and driving revenue growth across the region.

The successful candidate will be a confident and commercially driven BDM with a proven track record of winning new business.

Experience within the hygiene, facilities management, cleaning, washroom or wider service industry would be highly advantageous, although strong B2B business development experience will also be considered.

Role

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the South East.
  • Generate leads through a combination of prospecting, networking, referrals and market research.
  • Manage the full sales process from initial contact through to negotiation and successful contract completion.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Attend client meetings, site visits and networking events across the region.
  • Develop tailored proposals and presentations based on customer requirements.
  • Achieve agreed sales targets and revenue objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activity and opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales through to service delivery.
  • Represent the business professionally and build a strong reputation within the marketplace.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Proven experience working as a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager or similar B2B sales role.
  • A demonstrable track record of winning new business and meeting sales targets.
  • Strong prospecting and lead-generation skills.

Industry experience would be a strong advantage, particularly within hygiene, washroom services, cleaning, facilities management, Hospitality, FM, or another contract-based service environment.
