Skilled Centreless Grinder (Aerospace) | Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 6:45 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday
Noble Recruiting are recruiting a Skilled Centreless Grinder for an established engineering/aerospace engineering business in Southend-on-Sea. Due to increased contracts and workload, we are looking for an experienced grinder who can set and run centreless grinding machines and work confidently to tight tolerances.
Key responsibilities:- Set and run manual centreless grinders
- Operate machines including Wickman Scrivener, Ghiringhelli, Cincinnati or Tschudin (essential)
- Carry out first-off inspection and in-process checks during job runs
- Support second operations as required (thread rolling, deburring, drill banks, part marking and similar)
- Complete daily checks, maintenance sheets and cycle time records
- Reduce scrap and rework, reporting improvements to the Production Manager
- Maintain output and quality in line with KPIs, PPH and on-time delivery targets
- Work safely at all times, following documented procedures and using correct PPE
- Proven experience as a Centreless Grinder / Manual Grinder in an engineering environment (aerospace preferred)
- Experience with Wickman Scrivener, Ghiringhelli, Cincinnati or Tschudin centreless grinders (essential)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Confident in measuring using micrometres and working to close tolerances
- Myford grinder experience (desirable)
- Driver with own transport required due to the location
This is a long-term, stable role within a busy engineering business, with a strong Monday to Thursday shift pattern.
