Noble Recruiting is working with one of the world’s leading universities to recruit an experienced Legal Contracts Manager for its Research and Innovation Services team. This is a varied contract role managing a portfolio of research and innovation agreements while providing practical legal and commercial advice to academics and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Research funding agreements
- Research collaboration agreements
- Framework agreements
- Studentship agreements
- Confidentiality agreements
- Material Transfer Agreements
- Data sharing agreements
- Equipment loan agreements
You will also advise on contractual risk, intellectual property, publication rights, confidentiality, liability, indemnities, licensing and data protection. The role involves working closely with academic departments, business development teams and colleagues responsible for intellectual property and commercialisation. You will manage contract workflows, ensure agreements meet funding requirements and support improvements to internal processes.
Your Experience:
- A law degree, Graduate Diploma in Law or equivalent qualification
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal contracts
- Strong knowledge of warranties, liabilities, indemnities, governing law and jurisdiction
- The ability to identify legal and commercial risks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The confidence to explain complex contractual matters to non-legal colleagues
- Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines
Experience within higher education, research funding or a commercial research environment would be useful but is not essential. This Legal Contracts Manager role is available on an initial six month contract with potential for extension.
