Noble Recruiting is working with a fast-growing transactional business in Chelmsford to recruit an experienced Finance Manager. This is a hands-on Finance Manager role, leading a small finance team of 2 and taking responsibility for financial reporting, management accounts, process improvement and day-to-day transactional finance. This role would suit a commercially minded Finance Manager or Senior Finance professional who enjoys being close to the detail, improving systems and supporting wider business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce weekly and monthly profit and business reports
  • Prepare management accounts including accruals, journals, prepayments and bank reconciliations
  • Manage P&L reporting and support commercial decision making
  • Oversee sales ledger and purchase ledger activity
  • Manage credit control, customer credit accounts and new credit applications
  • Liaise with the external payroll provider to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
  • Identify and implement process improvements across finance and reporting
  • Ensure all finance paperwork and records are correctly documented
  • Support the business with ad hoc finance duties when required

About You

  • Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Senior Finance professional
  • Strong financial reporting and management accounts experience
  • Confident managing transactional finance processes
  • Commercially aware with a hands-on approach
  • Able to supervise and support a small team
  • Sage 50 experience would be beneficial
