Noble Recruiting are working with a well-established engineering company in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, who are looking for an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join their growing team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with strong CNC machining experience who would like to develop further skills, including grinding, with full training provided. The company works within precision engineering, including aerospace and defence, so attention to detail, accuracy and quality are essential.

Key responsibilities
  • Set and run CNC machines
  • Operate manual and second operation machines where required
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Use micrometers and measuring equipment to tight tolerances
  • Carry out first off inspections and job run checks
  • Maintain machine efficiency and quality standards
  • Complete daily maintenance check sheets and cycle timesheets
  • Support production targets, on time delivery and quality procedures
Experience required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience setting and running CNC machines
  • Experience within aerospace or defence engineering is essential
  • Confident reading technical drawings
  • Good understanding of inspection, quality and tight tolerances
  • Willingness to learn grinding and additional machining processes
  • Driver with own transport due to the company location
