- Customs Clerk & Customer Key Account Management

Permanent Position, Office based role.
This wonderful and dynamic position is offering the opportunity for an experienced Customs Clerk to join a small and personable team and to be fully trained/cross-skilled to support Sales with internal support and Key Account management!!
Responsibilities
- Supporting customs requirements for EU, Northern Ireland and international shipments.
- Preparing and reviewing customs documentation, for accuracy and completeness and follow up with the relevant internal or external parties.
- Liaising with freight forwarders, couriers and customs agents regarding customs queries and shipments.
- Maintaining customs records and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Provide general customer and sales support, including handling incoming calls, processing customer orders and quotations, issuing order confirmations, and supporting the External Sales Team.
- Manage customer orders from placement through to delivery, including checking prices and lead times, confirming delivery dates, monitoring overdue/unconfirmed orders, and keeping customers updated on changes.
- Manage stock and despatch activities, including booking in trailers, processing stock receipts, delivery notes and location transfers, monitoring forward orders, preparing goods for despatch, and managing stock movements.
- Manage stock purchasing and availability, including maintaining standard and customer-specific stock levels, running MRP, and ensuring appropriate buffer stock is maintained.
- Maintain accurate customer and supplier master data, including pricing information, within the internal system used.
- Liaise with transport companies regarding deliveries, transit damage, lost goods, collections and returns.
- Manage designated key accounts, including orders, stock levels, shipments, pricing and returns.
- Liaise with Accounts regarding customer credit limits and invoice queries, ensuring uninsured goods are not despatched; process credit card payments for proforma and spares customers and raise credit notes where required.
- Liaise with the Service, Warehouse and Technical Departments to assist with identifying customer deliveries where parts may subsequently have failed.
- Maintain accurate filing and records of sales orders, goods-in documentation, invoices and other relevant records.
Experience/Skills we are looking for
- Good working knowledge of customs procedures, with a practical understanding of import and export requirements for day-to-day shipments
- Good understanding of commodity/HS codes, customs valuation, country of origin and customs declarations.
- Confident and professional manner communicating to stakeholders on various levels.
- Diligent and accurate, with an excellent eye for detail.
- A willingness to learn and develop their customs knowledge as the role progresses.
Developing knowledge and experience in more complex customs procedures, compliance and audit requirements.
- Own transport is essential due to the location of the company.
