Great opportunity for a c.5-8 PQE FS Regulatory lawyer to join the external-facing legal team of a \’Big 4\’ international accounting and consultancy practice. This role focuses on banking, payments, and fintech companies within a broader FS team.
As a senior lawyer, you will have the opportunity to work independently on projects and collaborate with colleagues on multidisciplinary engagements. You will also be responsible for growing the practice and building networks and client relationships.
Responsibilities will include:
- Regulatory advisory work and drafting legal memos, opinions, and advice;
- Providing legal and regulatory structuring input for various scenarios, from group structure planning to deals;
- Leading or supporting new authorization applications to UK and overseas regulators;
- Conducting regulatory due diligence and drafting work on M&A transactions;
- Offering expert subject matter advice to support larger projects;
- Attending and supporting industry-wide events;
- Supporting regulatory legal transformation and technology initiatives.
You will have the opportunity to support other lawyers on engaging projects. While the focus is on clients in payments and fintech sectors, there will also be exposure to clients in banking, blockchain, and asset and wealth management.
To be considered, you should be practicing at a well-regarded City or large regional firm, handling relevant FS regulatory work. The environment offers good career progression opportunities, a more relaxed setting than standard City firms, an excellent salary and package, and a good work-life balance with low target hours and flexible/hybrid working arrangements.
