We are currently recruiting on behalf of Noble Foods for their added value site in Gainsborough. Heading up this small but complex site, you will be leading all functions to successfully deliver expected levels of product whilst maintaining high levels of quality. Due to the size of the site, we are not looking for Site GMs who have run large 500+ operations.
To lead and manage all aspects of a high care food manufacturing site, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality food products. This includes driving a robust food safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer standards, and delivering operational excellence through strong leadership and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities- Lead all functions on site including Engineering, Technical, Hygiene and Operations.
- Lead Weekly & Monthly meetings for all site functions.
- Ensure full compliance with all food safety, legal, regulatory, and customer standards (e.g., BRCGS, FSA, HACCP).
- Champion a strong Health & Safety culture across all departments.
- Support Technical and QA teams in audit preparedness and resolution of non-conformances.
- Oversee hygiene, zoning, and environmental control measures appropriate for high care operations.
- Lead daily production activities ensuring adherence to KPIs on safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.
- Identify non-conformances, drive change and improvements across site.
- Optimize processes for productivity, cost savings, and waste reduction without compromising food safety.
- Ensure effective preventive maintenance and factory cleanliness through Engineering and Hygiene teams.
- Liaise with suppliers, auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Work closely with Technical to improve food safety and quality.
- Demonstrate and drive correct Health and Safety behaviours ensuring SWOP & Near misses are actively sourced and closed out.
- Develop and implement the health and safety procedures. Allocate the resources for the health and safety activities and initiatives.
- Ensure that the managers, team leaders and team members comply with the health and safety legislation and standards and review and evaluate the health and safety risks and control measures in the work area and make improvements.
- Communicate and consult with the managers, team leaders, team members, and other stakeholders on health and safety matters.
- Monitor and evaluate the social and environmental performance and impact of your area and report on the progress and challenges.
- Allocate resources and provide support and guidance to your team leaders and staff to enable them to deliver on their social and environmental responsibilities.
- Proven leadership experience in a senior role within high care or high risk food manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, food safety standards, hygiene zoning and allergen control.
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing operations, KPIs and people management.
- Demonstrated success in audit management.
- IOSH/NEBOSH or strong health and safety background.
- Experience of working with retailers is ideal.
- Encourages a working TOGETHER approach between teams consistently. Proactively brings managers and supervisors together to work cross-functionally.
