About The Role

We’re looking for a driven and capable

Shift Manager to oversee production at our Leicester production site.

Reporting to the Production Manager, this is a hands‑on leadership role focused on delivering safe, compliant, and efficient operations while maintaining the highest standards in food safety, quality, and team performance.

You’ll play a key role in leading a shift to produce on time quality products for our customers, improving operational performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership
  • Lead the production team to deliver a safe working environment for employees and visitors
  • Ensure all products meet food safety, legal, and company standards
  • Deliver manufacturing plans in line with targets for cost, quality, and delivery
  • Monitor and report daily and weekly KPIs through structured meetings
  • Drive improvements in operational performance
  • Team Development & Culture
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members through reviews, PDPs, and training
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement and high performance
  • Promote clear communication across all site colleagues
  • Build an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and contributes

  • Deliver labour and yield within agreed targets
  • Support and implement factory improvement initiatives (safety, quality, efficiency, people)
  • Ensure production operates within agreed resources and timelines
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Implement company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards
  • Maintain customer specifications and quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with environmental policies and sustainability initiatives
  • Support food safety by preventing and reporting risks or contamination
  • Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
  • Champion a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance with legislation
  • Identify risks, implement controls, and elevate issues effectively
  • Promote environmental responsibility, sustainability, and ethical practices
  • Engage stakeholders to support social and environmental initiatives

About You

You are a proactive leader with a strong operational mindset and a passion for delivering results through people.

  • Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Team Leader ready for their next step or as a Shift Manager
  • Background in food production or manufacturing
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • KPI-driven with a focus on performance improvement
  • Ability to collaborate with Technical and Engineering teams
  • Knowledge of production processes and business procedures
  • High-care operations experience (desirable but not essential)
