Our Milling Business Unit is one of the largest animal feed compounders in the UK.

About the Role

Belle Eau Park Mill are looking to recruit a temporary QC Technician to support and participate in the quality function within Noble Foods Milling. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QC Technician will carry out NIR nutritional analysis of raw materials and finished feeds.

  • Execute the routine NIR testing schedule including analysis of raw materials and finished feeds
  • Operate to safe and good laboratory practices and housekeeping
  • Perform other quality tasks including sampling, sample preparation and sieve testing
  • Record results and compare to defined specifications
  • Assist in feed quality investigations
  • Collect and input data for the development of NIR calibrations
  • Effectively communicate results and trends in the form of regular reports
  • Perform calibration checks as well as simple troubleshooting, maintenance and repair tasks on the NIR
  • Maintain a good working relationship with external laboratories

About You

  • No previous NIR or laboratory experience is necessary, full training will be given
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Accurate data entry
  • Computer literate – good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel

This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave and is envisaged to be for 12 months.

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, (8 hours per day) with 30 mins break each day. Actual start and finish times can be flexible provided the hours are completed between 6am – 6pm.
