🕒 Shift Pattern: Sunday – Thursday, 6 pm – 2 am. 💰 Salary: £30,000 – £33,000.

About The Role

Supervisor responsible for the cleaning, sanitisation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and production machinery to ensure compliance with hygiene standards and operational efficiency in food manufacturing.

Key Activities

  • Perform deep cleaning and sanitisation of production lines, machinery, and workspaces.
  • Dismantle, clean, and reassemble mechanical components of production equipment according to hygiene and engineering protocols.
  • Experience with machine isolation, basic machine operations, maintenance of guards, trays and basic parts.
  • General maintenance, oiling and greasing of equipment and machines.
  • Use approved cleaning chemicals and methods to prevent contamination.
  • Conduct hygiene inspections and report any non‑conformances.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to health & safety protocols.
  • Manage and motivate a small team of hygiene operatives, providing hands‑on support and guidance.
  • Identify and develop potential within the hygiene team and coordinate relevant training.
  • Previous experience in hygiene or mechanical maintenance within food production or similar environments.
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals safely and to dismantle and reassemble mechanical equipment safely.
  • Maintain training records for all department staff.
  • Physical stamina for manual cleaning tasks.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to hygiene standards and problem‑solving.
