We are looking for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with a strong electrical bias and solid mechanical experience to help keep our high-volume poultry processing site operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.
The RoleReporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving our production and site services equipment. This is a practical, varied role where no two days are the same.
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and carrying out effective electrical and mechanical fault-finding
- Maintaining and repairing production machinery including conveyors, evisceration equipment, packing machines, and chillers
- Completing planned preventative maintenance and supporting continuous improvement
- Fault-finding on PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels
- Carrying out mechanical work on gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic fabrication
- Working closely with production and hygiene teams to minimise downtime
- Supporting shutdowns, installations, and site engineering projects
- Recording all work accurately using the site CMM
- Ensuring all tasks meet strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
You'll be a confident, safety-focused engineer who can think on their feet in a high-volume environment.
Essential:- Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias
- Solid mechanical fault-finding experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good working knowledge of PLC fault-finding, motors, inverters, sensors, and control systems
- Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
- Understanding of permit-to-work, isolation, and lock-off procedures
- Experience in food, FMCG, or poultry processing environments
