Are you a hands-on Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and a passion for driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to support our Engineering Department in maintaining high operational standards and safety compliance across the site. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on both practical engineering tasks and the administrative side of maintenance operations, and who is keen to contribute to a collaborative and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate contractor documentation and manage work permits.
  • Ensure all contractors complete required risk assessments and site inductions.
  • Use and update the PPM system and engineering diary.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and communicate effectively with production teams.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and assist with testing, installing, and commissioning new equipment.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Health & Safety procedures and documentation.
  • Monitor and report progress on incidents, concerns, and maintenance issues.

About You:

  • City & Guilds or BTEC Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • 18th Edition (or willing to work towards)
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification
  • Experience with PLC systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and TIG/MMA welding
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Food Safety and HACCP Level 2
  • Strong communicator with excellent time management skills
  • Detail-oriented and committed to documentation and audit readiness
  • Collaborative mindset – works well with teams across departments
  • Strives for excellence and continuous learning
  • Organised and action-oriented, capable of balancing proactive and reactive tasks
