Are you passionate about food safety, compliance and delivering excellence? We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Specification Technologist to join our Technical team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our product specifications, artwork and technical information meet customer, legal and regulatory requirements while supporting successful product launches.
As a Specification Technologist, you'll work closely with internal teams, customers and suppliers to ensure specifications are accurate, compliant and delivered within critical path deadlines. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration and problem-solving.
What You'll Be Doing
- Create, maintain and manage product specifications in line with customer Codes of Practice and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve artwork and pack copy to ensure compliance with technical, labelling and legal requirements.
- Evaluate raw material, packaging and supplier documentation for compliance with company and customer standards.
- Manage supplier approval processes, including risk assessments, supplier reviews and trend analysis.
- Maintain customer portals and specification systems, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and submitted within agreed timescales.
- Support the development and management of product critical paths alongside the wider business.
- Attend customer pre-artwork meetings and contribute technical expertise.
- Support the Quality Management System (QMS) and internal audit programme through audit activities.
- Assist with the maintenance of nutritional trackers and product information databases.
- Keep site teams informed of changes to legislation, labelling requirements and customer standards.
- Act as an active member of the HACCP team.
