The Investigation Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s incident management and continuous improvement processes. This position is responsible for conducting and assisting with structured investigations into significant events, ensuring accurate root cause analysis, and driving actionable outcomes. Working as part of a global investigation team, the specialist collaborates across functions to maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and operational excellence. This role will directly mobilize to support investigations when required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an active member of the investigation specialists’ team, mobilizing to lead or support investigations when necessary.
  • Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure timely communication, data collection, and alignment on investigation objectives
  • Drive expectations for Council Call support and Global First Communications for unplanned events across the fleet
  • Liaise with, and provide support to, Compliance and Legal teams regarding regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain readiness of investigation resources, tools, and documentation.
  • Undertake QA/QC of COMET-Lite and COMET investigations at all outcome levels, providing feedback, coaching, and support to frontline investigation teams.

Required Experience

  • Strong, demonstrable, understanding of root cause analysis methodologies and system-based investigation principles.
  • Proven experience of applying root cause analysis investigatory practices whilst leading incident investigations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering collaboration across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain operational readiness under time-sensitive conditions.

Preferred Experience

  • Professional certification in investigation methodologies or safety disciplines (e.g., TapRooT®, ICAM, Topset, COMET).
  • Familiarity with human performance principles and performance influencing factors & systems-based learning techniques.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance & reporting expectations within areas of operation.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in varied global environments, including office settings and operational sites.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations and offshore facilities as required in a time-sensitive manner.
