About The Role
On-Call Operator - Domiciliary Care (Multiple Positions Available)
Shifts Available: Weekdays 5-11pm, Weekends and Bank Holidays on a ROTA 8am - 3pm & 3-11pm
Rate: £13 per hour
Are you experienced in domiciliary care and confident managing challenging situations out of hours? We’re looking for a calm, resourceful, and responsive On-Call Operator to provide critical out-of-hours support for our domiciliary care service. You’ll be the first point of contact for staff and customers during evenings, weekends, and bank holidays—keeping care running smoothly when the office is closed. This fully remote role is essential in helping us maintain service quality, staff wellbeing, and client satisfaction at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Continuity & Emergency Response
- Handle urgent calls from carers, clients, and professionals
- Resolve rota issues such as sickness and last-minute cover
- Monitor visits via PASSsystem and ensure all visits are accounted for
- Escalate safeguarding or critical concerns as needed
- Staff Support
- Provide guidance and reassurance to care staff
- Offer advice on incidents, emergencies, and company protocols
- Ensure lone workers feel supported out of hours
- Communication & Compliance
- Log all calls and actions taken during the shift
- Deliver clear handovers to the office team
- Uphold safeguarding and CQC compliance at all times
What You’ll Need
Essential:
- Previous experience in domiciliary care or health & social care
- Strong rota management and problem-solving skills
- Calm and confident decision-making under pressure
- Access to reliable phone and internet during shifts
Desirable:
- Experience with PASSsystem or Care Planner
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
- Working knowledge of CQC requirements
