The General Manager - Business Development – Healthcare is a pivotal commercial role tasked with establishing and growing the healthcare vertical within Noatum Logistics UK business. The position will drive the strategic development of new business opportunities by targeting healthcare clients for air, ocean, and road freight services across import and export trade lanes. Acting as the subject matter expert, the General Manager will collaborate with the Business Development Director and the wider commercial team to enhance operational and commercial foundations, ensuring Noatum Logistics becomes a trusted partner for healthcare organizations in the UK.
The role combines business development expertise with industry specific knowledge to deliver sustainable growth and exceptional client satisfaction. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Support the overall growth strategy for Noatum Logistics products around healthcare customer qualification process and new business opportunities.
- Responsible for upselling products and services to potential incumbent customers within the vertical and owning the healthcare opportunity assessment for all qualified opportunities.
- Own an aligned strategic commercial approach in the healthcare vertical to develop several major opportunities.
- Agree and take ownership of the overall vertical target account list for UK with the support of the Business Development Director.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders regarding the pricing strategy for new healthcare customers.
- Ensure all healthcare opportunities have the right team working towards success.
- Ensure that the healthcare offering is always compelling for our customer requirements.
- This position is accountable in ensuring all customer engagements are tailored and compelling.
- Engage and work with other Noatum Logistics Healthcare groups Globally to share best practices.
- Partner with the Senior UK Leadership Team to continually innovate and create new solutions.
- Develop comprehensive business handover documents detailing the client business, the solution, and agreed commercials.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in local trade, professional and network associations.
- Achieve and maintain the data integrity of assigned accounts in the CRM.
- Establish and build intense face to face visibility with key target customers.
Skills and experience required:
- Customer orientated and excellent in anticipating customers’ needs.
- In depth experience in business development, sales or commercial leadership roles focused on the healthcare or life sciences sector.
- Active network and contacts within the Healthcare sector.
- Ability to communicate, build internal and external networks, and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management abilities.
- Positive change agent in the business, committed to evolving service propositions.
- Ability to indirectly lead teams to deliver targets to deadlines.
- Good understanding of supply chain visibility applications and solutions.
- Ability to define entrepreneurial business solutions to identify new opportunities.
- Must be able to travel nationally and internationally where required.
- Experience in selling Ocean, Air and Road.
- Solid presentation and interpersonal skills.
