We are looking to recruit a friendly individual to join us as Retail Supervisor, you will be working in our Farm Shop which is located at the top of our car park, here at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm. We opened our Farm Shop in 2020, it has become very popular with passing trade and zoo visitors. We sell fresh and frozen meals, homemade cakes, and desserts made with local produce, freshly cooked in the Noah's Ark Kitchen by our team of talented chefs. Our other products are sourced from local businesses in the South West and small sustainable British businesses. The Farm Shop also sells a wider range of gardening essentials and seasonal goods, including Pumpkins and Christmas trees.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting customers and providing a warm and friendly service.
- Barista trained; will be making a multitude of hot drinks.
- Taking customer orders and payments, operating the tills.
- Serving hot and cold food to our customers.
- Tidy and clean tables and customer areas in and around the farm shop.
- Ensuring the displays are always fully stocked and presentable to customers.
- Maximising sales ensuring the customer leaves the farm shop happy and with everything they need.
- Follow our stock control policy.
- Ensuring all food hygiene and health and safety requirements are met.
- Maintain temperature records and supplier delivery sheets up to date.
- Communicate and work closely with the Senior Management team and our Kitchen team to ensure food and drink supplies are well managed throughout each day.
- Work as part of the Retail team, may be asked to work in the zoo’s Gift Shop as requested.
Ideal Candidate:
- Happy with lone working.
- Experience of working within a retail environment.
- Bright and friendly personality that enjoys engaging with customers and staff.
- Till trained and cash handling skills.
- Barista trained – Preferred.
- Understanding of sales targets and a results‑driven attitude.
- Organised, reliable, and clean and tidy in the workplace.
- Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
- Current, manual driving licence – essential.
Work Pattern:
- Every Sunday.
- Cover sickness and holiday, with opportunity to flex-up hours as requested by the business during peak seasons.
Salary: £12.71 per hour (Minimum wage as per your age bracket).
