Responsibilities include:
- Manage accounting operations across e-commerce and wholesale businesses whilst liaising closely with external accountants.
- Deliver accurate month-end and year-end close across multiple companies.
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage intercompany accounts, bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
- Manage four factoring accounts including financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Prepare cash flow planning and forecasting to improve financial visibility and support business decisions.
- Manage AP and AR functions, supplier negotiations and customer credit control.
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns including PVA and manage the company's deferment account.
- Successfully led the company through an HMRC VAT inspection.
- Implemented process improvements and strengthened reconciliation procedures to increase financial reporting accuracy and reduce manual errors.
- Manage and support a small team of finance staff, ensuring deadlines and reporting standards are consistently achieved.
