We’re looking for a talented and detail-driven Mid-Weight 2D Packaging Designer to join our growing creative team. In this role, you’ll develop beautiful, innovative, and sustainability-led packaging across our beauty and skincare portfolio. As a brand built on strong ethical values, sustainability sits at the centre of everything we do, from material selection to supplier partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for a designer with 3+ years’ experience and a refined aesthetic sensibility, ideally gained in beauty, cosmetics, or premium lifestyle brands.
You’ll collaborate closely with brand, marketing, and product development to bring ideas to life, taking concepts all the way through to production, ensuring every touchpoint reflects our values and creates positive impact for people and planet.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop primary and secondary packaging across new and existing product ranges.
- Translate brand strategy and creative direction into innovative, functional, and sustainable packaging concepts.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams (Brand, NPD, Marketing) and external partners to ensure design intent and production quality.
- Support the evolution of our brand visual identity, ensuring consistency across all packaging and design assets.
- Stay informed on market trends, sustainable materials, finishes, and innovations in packaging.
- Contribute to creative brainstorming and concept development sessions.
- 3+ years’ packaging design experience, ideally in beauty, skincare, or premium consumer goods.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating concept-to-production packaging projects with a sustainability focus.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Solid understanding of print production, dielines, colour management, and materials.
- Experience collaborating with suppliers, printers, and manufacturers, with an emphasis on ethical sourcing.
- Strong eye for typography, composition, and detail.
- Understanding of sustainable packaging principles and circular design thinking.
- Confident communicator capable of clearly presenting ideas.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within a beauty, lifestyle, or premium brand.
- Familiarity with luxury or premium aesthetic standards.
- Passionate about sustainability, ethical design, and environmental responsibility.
- Employment Type: This role is offered full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
- Location: Tropic HQ is a short walk from Beddington Lane Tram stop, with direct links to East Croydon and Wimbledon.
- Hybrid Working: Enjoy a blend of office and remote working with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
- Salary: £30,000-£35,000 DOE.
