Position offers 7.5 hours in the breast cancer service and 14 hours of psychological support to the diabetes team, part time 21.5 hrs per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a specialist systematic and autonomous clinical psychology service within the specialist area, based on objectives agreed with service and professional managers.
  • Independent management of caseload and provision of services with appropriate supervision and professional management per BPS guidelines.
  • Specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to specialist teams using appropriate datasets and tools.
  • Develop and implement plans for formal psychological treatment and management for clients and families, including those with highly complex presentations.
  • Deliver a range of psychological interventions for adults, children, carers, families and groups within and across settings.
  • Evaluate and decide on treatment options considering theoretical models and complex factors.

Qualifications

  • Completed or soon to complete a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent); newly qualified staff appointed at Band 7.
  • At least 18 months experience for Band 8A appointment.
  • Experience in CBT, ACT, CFT, motivational interviewing, EMDR or similar evidence‑based approaches.
  • Clinical supervision experience and ability to work independently with BPS guidelines.
