The salary range for this position is £57,854 to £63,247 (Grade 4A).

We're looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Process Engineer who can take projects from initial specification through to delivery of an operational asset, managing all the relevant Process Engineering design elements throughout. We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated and a team player looking to push their career to the next level and keen to work and grow as part of an integrated team. There will be a requirement/opportunity to travel between UKNNL sites and customer locations, as required by the projects. The location for this role is flexible and can be based at Risley, Preston or Sellafield.
Main Responsibilities for Senior Process Engineer
- Taking the lead in developing Process Engineering designs to national and international standards as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
- Authoring and checking of calculations, engineering drawings, technical reports and design memos to support / underpin the design.
- Work alongside project / program managers to ensure that work is delivered to meet time, cost, quality and safety requirements.
- Work alongside the procurement team to define procurement requirements for engineering projects and work with suppliers to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Supporting the commissioning of your designs.
- Supporting the active plant areas with troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Working with the wider engineering and business teams to design safe plants in line with relevant safety standards, such as BS EN 61508, BS EN 60079 and BS EN 4126.
- Mentoring junior engineers and guiding their design activities.
- Working with the Process Engineering Discipline Lead to identify and develop business improvements.
- Engaging in the employee development program to support your technical and behavioral growth.
Essential Criteria for Senior Process Engineer
- Chartered Engineer.
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related subject and a relevant level of experience.
- Experience in developing process plant design deliverables in a highly regulated industry.
- Experience of the HAZOP process.
- Knowledge of the legislative, regulatory, quality and environmental requirements relating to engineering design projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, such that difficult concepts can be conveyed clearly and concisely to customers, regulators and key stakeholders.
- Evidence of problem solving and seeking solutions.
- Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency).
