We have an exciting opportunity to join North Norfolk District Council. With a recently adopted Local Plan and significant site allocations, we are expanding our teams and looking for motivated planners seeking a fresh challenge. The area is famed for its stunning coastline and national landscape designations, 2,000+ listed buildings and numerous conservation and ecological sites. The role is part of the Development Management Team, developing and managing a caseload of householder planning applications and related matters.

Responsibilities

  • Process and make recommendations on an individual caseload of planning and other applications.
  • Ensure decisions and advice accord with council policies, government advice and good planning practice.
  • Provide and offer advice and guidance to prospective applicants, consultants and members of the public prior to submission of applications.
  • Advise/liaise with elected members regarding planning matters in the area.
  • Prepare and present Development Committee reports.
  • Deal with all customers of the planning service in a positive and constructive manner.

Qualifications

  • Good standard of general education to A level or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated competency in using IT systems.
  • Experience, knowledge, skills, aptitude and disposition required for the role.
