About the Role
NNDC are seeking to appoint an experienced Asset Management Officer to directly assist the Asset and Property Programme Manager in effectively delivering the capital works programme as well as minor works across the council’s varied asset portfolio. This exciting and challenging role involves a constant stream of projects to deliver. You will join an existing well‑established team that delivers the capital works programme, as well as planned and reactive maintenance across the district. The scope of works varies in size and duration and can be internal or external, coastal or inland.
About You
The successful candidate will have experience in delivering a variety of construction and maintenance work to budget and agreed timescales with a keen eye for finishing detail. With a background of delivering construction projects of various sizes and values, the successful candidate will be a decision maker with the ability to issue clear instructions to contractors and the council’s own direct labour team. You will need good communication skills, building relationships with contractors, stakeholders, tenants, council members and other staff across the authority. This is fundamental to the success of this post, with the ability to work independently or as part of a wider team. The post holder is required to have an understanding of current CMD regulations, modern methods of construction and best practices, with the ability to understand schedules of work and construction drawings, and an understanding of various forms of building contracts (principally JCT).
