We are seeking a reliable and practical Yard Person / Delivery Driver to join an established team.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining yard duties, manual work and driving, with responsibility for supporting machinery and parts deliveries and maintaining the depot.
Key Responsibilities
Safely load, unload and secure machinery for transportation.
Drive vehicles including 3.5T flatbed vans to collect and deliver machinery, parts and goods.
Carry out general grounds maintenance, including mowing, strimming and leaf blowing.
Complete vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
Support the stores team with stock movements and organisation.
Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records.
Carry out basic assembly tasks, such as building wheelbarrows.
Assist customers with purchases and horticultural machinery repairs.
Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
Carry out general yard maintenance including painting, drain clearance and sweeping.
Work independently while supporting the wider team as required.
Requirements
Full UK driving licence.
Previous delivery, driving or yard-based experience.
Trailer towing experience; relevant licence entitlement preferred.
Good understanding of safe loading, unloading and securing practices.
Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work outdoors.
Good communication and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to accommodate occasional early starts or late finishes.
Experience within horticultural, agricultural or construction sectors is desirable.
Forklift licence or other relevant qualifications are desirable.
Good geographical knowledge of East and West Sussex is advantageous.
