We are currently looking for an experienced Professional Groundcare Service Technician to join an established and growing Service Department. Reporting to the Service Development Manager, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults, repairing, servicing and maintaining a range of professional groundcare, horticultural and related machinery.
Working both within the workshop and at customer sites, you will use modern diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to identify and resolve faults, replace components to manufacturer specifications and ensure all work is completed to a consistently high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Engineer looking to develop their career within a professional machinery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, service and maintain a range of professional groundcare, horticultural and related machinery.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify faults, including interpreting fault codes and machine software data.
- Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines and associated mechanical issues.
- Identify faulty components and replace parts in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Complete repairs and preventative maintenance to a high standard both within the workshop and at customer sites.
- Aim to resolve customer issues efficiently and correctly at the first opportunity wherever possible.
- Complete all relevant documentation accurately and within required timescales.
- Produce digital service reports detailing equipment condition, repair history and any recommended maintenance or further work.
- Communicate effectively with the Service Manager, Service Advisors and customers, providing clear updates on repair progress, equipment condition and any delays or issues.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when working on customer sites.
- Follow all relevant health and safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines and company policies.
- Ensure the correct PPE is used at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced, time-served Service Engineer / Technician with a proven track record of working on modern machinery. You will have strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with the ability to analyse symptoms and identify the root cause of problems.
