Our client, a well-established and growing Managed IT Services provider, is seeking a Helpdesk Infrastructure Engineer to join their friendly and highly skilled technical team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse customer base, supporting a wide range of technologies while developing your expertise in cloud infrastructure, networking, Microsoft technologies and virtualisation.
As a Helpdesk Infrastructure Engineer, you'll provide remote technical support to business customers, resolving infrastructure and network issues via telephone, email and remote access tools. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and performing at their best.
Responsibilities:- Providing 2nd/3rd line technical support to customers.
- Diagnosing and resolving infrastructure, server and networking issues.
- Supporting Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server environments.
- Building, configuring and maintaining LANs, servers and private cloud infrastructure.
- Installing and configuring firewalls, switches, servers, storage devices, desktops and laptops.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation for customer environments.
- Accurately recording incidents, changes and resolutions.
- Occasionally travelling to customer sites to carry out onsite support and installations.
- At least three years' experience gained in an IT support role.
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Solid experience of installing and configuring firewalls, network switches, desktop computers, laptops, server hardware and storage devices.
- A good working knowledge of IP networking, Remote Desktop Services, Azure, Virtual Desktop, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and IIS.
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, Defender.
- You must have good communication skills along with good troubleshooting skills with a proactive and customer-focused approach.
- MS technical certification, such as AZ-900, AZ-104 or something similar.
- Hyper-V or other hypervisor experience.
- Experience supporting handhelds.
- Experience working with Mac, iOS, Android and Linux.
- Salary up to £40,000 DOE.
- 25 days holiday plus 1 additional day per year after 3 years' service.
