A well-established UK business operating across multiple industrial and environmental sectors is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to join its busy transport and engineering team.

The Role

Working within a busy workshop environment, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of HGVs, trucks, trailers, and associated transport equipment to ensure maximum vehicle uptime and compliance standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGV trucks and trailers
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs efficiently
  • Conducting vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Completing pre-MOT inspections in line with DVSA standards
  • Supporting the maintenance of site transport and ancillary equipment
  • Accurately completing maintenance records and workshop paperwork
  • Ensuring high standards of workshop housekeeping and health & safety compliance
  • Assisting with breakdown support and ad-hoc maintenance tasks where required

About You

  • Qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic with a recognised qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience servicing and repairing HGVs and trailers
  • Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Good understanding of DVSA regulations and workshop safety procedures
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence required
  • Class 1 (C+E) licence advantageous but not essential
