Role Description: The Automotive Technician/MOT Tester is a full-time, on-site role based at NMJ Service Centre in Milton Keynes. The role involves carrying out routine vehicle servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs in line with manufacturer and safety standards. Daily tasks include performing MOT tests, identifying faults, completing oil changes, checking and repairing suspension components, and accurately documenting all work. The technician will liaise with the service team to prioritise jobs, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and uphold high customer service and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for a range of makes and models.
- Practical experience with Automotive Repair and Suspension inspection and repair.
- Proficiency in routine servicing tasks, including Oil Changes and basic safety checks.
- Valid MOT Tester qualification (or willingness and eligibility to obtain it).
- Relevant automotive training or certification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent).
- Ability to use modern diagnostic equipment and follow technical manuals accurately.
- Commitment to health and safety, attention to detail, and high standards of workmanship.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
