About the team and what we do
The first stage in the fitness to practise process is called Screening. This is where we look at the concern someone’s raised with us in more detail and decide on the next steps.
You’ll work collaboratively within a large team of Screening Decision Makers. You will also support colleagues across the wider Screening team to achieve the delivery of a high quality and efficient screening function.
Your role and impact
Our Screening Decision Makers decide whether a concern raised with us suggests a risk that could require us to take action.
You will make high quality Screening decisions and will produce reasons for your decisions that explain to different external stakeholders how you’ve come to your decision. You will apply our guidance to the evidence of the case and the concerns raised in order to reach the right decision fairly and quickly.
This is an important role for one of the UK’s largest regulators.
What you’ll bring
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate complex and often high volumes of information and reach sound and impartial evidence‑based conclusions.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise and accessible decisions and reasoning.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing a demanding, targets‑driven workload.

London - £56,174- £62,416
Edinburgh - £52,241 - £58,046
