- Small, Busy & Friendly Conveyancing/Private Client Firm | Cumbernauld
We are looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Administrative Assistant to join our small but busy law firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team, takes pride in providing excellent client service, and is comfortable juggling a variety of administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.
No previous experience within a legal or property environment is needed.
What matters most to us is a positive attitude, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
The Role
As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide essential day-to-day support to the team, helping to ensure our files and office run smoothly and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing general administrative support
- Opening, maintaining and closing digital files (we run a paperless office)
- Preparing, formatting and sending correspondence and documentation
- Scanning and digitally filing documents
- Updating electronic case management systems and maintaining accurate records
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing post and emails Answering telephone calls and directing enquiries appropriately
- Liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents, lenders and other third parties
- Assisting with property transaction administration and routine conveyancing tasks
- Preparing and sending formal Offers and diarising Closing Dates
- Carrying out basic searches and online checks as required
- Ordering Mortgage Redemption Statements and ordering property searches via web-based portals
- Preparing and submitting LBTT Returns via Revenue Scotland's web-based portal
- Providing general support to colleagues and helping wherever needed
As we are a small team, everyone plays an important part in the smooth running of the business. The role will therefore suit someone who is happy to be hands‑on, adaptable and willing to get involved .

- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and general computer systems
- A clear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Discreet and trustworthy when dealing with confidential client information
- Keen to learn and develop their knowledge of conveyancing and legal administration
Full training and support will be provided to the right candidate.
We would ideally wish candidates to have passed Higher English and Nat 5 Maths (although these qualifications are not essential).
