Logic is seeking a BMDS Specialty Systems Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The BMDS Specialty Systems Engineer will provide technical support as part of a collaborative missile defense engineering team. In this role, the engineer will develop software products that enable the design, integration, and enhancement of critical system capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide software engineering support within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
- Develop software products that support system design, integration, and capability enhancement.
- Contribute to software architecture, design, implementation, verification, and documentation activities.
- Participate in technical reviews, requirements discussions, and engineering coordination meetings.
- Ensure software products meet established program standards, engineering practices, and system requirements.
- Collaborate with systems, test, and integration teams to support end-to-end development and delivery.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to solve complex technical challenges and deliver high-quality solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Secret Security Clearance is required for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 5–8 years of relevant professional experience; a Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for some experience requirements.
- Experience performing Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
- Experience with software architecture and design.
- Experience developing and verifying Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) requirements.
- Experience using systems engineering tools such as DOORS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think critically, synthesize technical concepts, and communicate them clearly in documentation and presentations.
- Demonstrated capability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience within Reliability and Maintainability discipline.
- Experience with risk analysis and risk management.
