About the Role

We are seeking a Salesforce Specialist to design, develop, and maintain nLighten’s Salesforce environment in alignment with our business and operational goals. As part of the IT team, this role will support the continued integration of Salesforce across our European organization, ensuring that our systems and data enable seamless collaboration and customer engagement. With over 220 users and significant expansion through acquisitions, this is an exciting opportunity to build scalable, high‑performing Salesforce solutions that power our fast‑growing digital infrastructure platform.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Customization

  • Design, develop, and customize Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components.
  • Ensure all solutions align with business requirements and Salesforce best practices.
  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other internal platforms through nLighten’s Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).
  • Support middleware and API integrations to ensure data consistency and accuracy across systems.

Configuration & Administration

  • Configure Salesforce features, workflows, and automation without extensive custom code.
  • Manage profiles, roles, and permissions in alignment with business processes.

Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide ongoing system support, resolve issues, and perform debugging and testing.
  • Ensure platform stability and security across multiple environments.

Data Management & Quality

  • Design and manage data models, queries, and validation rules to ensure integrity and reliability.
  • Support data migration and ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, project managers, and other IT specialists to translate business needs into effective Salesforce solutions.
  • Develop technical documentation and provide user training and guidance as needed.
  • Stay current with new Salesforce features and releases, recommending updates and optimizations to enhance system performance and usability.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills

  • Proven experience in Salesforce development, configuration, and customization.
  • Strong proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, and Salesforce integrations.
  • Understanding of Salesforce architecture and best practices.
  • Experience with API and middleware integration technologies.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to project delivery.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience leading system integration or migration projects.
  • Knowledge of data quality management and referential integrity.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Familiarity with data center operations, including power, cooling, and network systems.

Experience & Education

  • 4+ years of Salesforce development experience using Apex and Lightning.
  • Minimum 2 years of solution design experience.
  • Experience leading at least two technical projects or integrations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Management, or related field.
  • Salesforce training or certification required.

Language & Location

  • Fluency in English required; Dutch, French, or German is an advantage.
  • Based in the Netherlands or the UK, with the ability to work from the office at least 3 days per week.
