About the Role
We are looking for a technically minded individual to join our growing Network Operations team as a Network Engineer at nLighten’s Milton Keynes Data Centre. In this role, you will support our growing Internal Corporate network across Europe. Working as part of a team, providing operational support to internal colleagues located across our other European Data Centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain our growing internal corporate network across the European continent.
- Responding to and fixing network incidents.
- Working with other colleagues to provision and deliver solutions to support Data Centre Operations, including BMS and monitoring systems.
- Providing on-call support as part of a team Rota.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Help drive process improvements and automation to streamline the management of the network.
- Developing internal systems and reporting improvements.
- Stay informed on relevant industry trends, innovations, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Cisco Certified or similar is a requirement (CCNA). (Will consider recently expired certifications subject to past experience).
- Experience with Fortinet network equipment (particularly Fortigate firewalls).
- 3–5+ years of experience in Networking, working with Layer 3 routing protocols such as OSPF/BGP.
- Ability to problem solve effectively, develop insights, and communicate recommendations clearly.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in another European language is a plus.
- Open to travel on occasion to other Data Centres across Europe as part of projects.
