NLB Solutions are working with a large business in Luton who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Manager that is able to deal with managing the output for a team of purchase ledger clerks that are well established. The role will involve reconciliations, payment runs and all areas of the purchase ledger work. This is a business that offers an excellent work life balance whilst in the office for all working hours.
The company has all staff back in the office as they feel that the business benefits from the full interaction of the staff. They have expanded the amount of office space that is available for finance team to work in. They do have a very supportive management team and are looking for someone that is able to help develop staff in the future.
Duties
- Supplier invoices are scanned, distributed, processed and allocated for authorisation on the system on a timely basis.
- Ensure accurate recovery of input VAT
- Management of the invoice authorisation process
- Timely and accurate passing of invoices as applicable
- Communicate unauthorised invoice position weekly
- Timely resolution of supplier queries
- Monthly supplier statement reconciliations
- Dealing with and resolving any account anomalies as they arise
- Monthly / mid monthly supplier payment runs in accordance with timetable
- Ad hoc supplier payments, as applicable
- Minimise unapproved invoices
- Timely closure of purchase ledger at month end in accordance with management accounts deadline
- Formal monthly review of aged creditors
- Management and creation of new supplier accounts and master creditors in accordance with group policy
- Dealing with supplier telephone queries
- Produce manual cheques when required and immediately post on the system
- Liaising with stakeholders to resolve any issues
- Updating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
- Keep filing organised and up to date
- Management and control of purchase ledger team
- Performance management and review
- Annual appraisal and regular one to one reviews
- Internal audit compliance
