Join NKT’s Marine Operations Department as a Shift Supervisor for the NKT Fleet and contribute to offshore cable installation projects that support the green transition. The role is offshore‑based on rotational periods at sea, and you will coordinate shift-based operations onboard cable‑lay vessels, ensuring safe and efficient execution aligned with project requirements. You will work closely with offshore and onshore teams in a global environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate offshore cable installation activities during your assigned shift.
- Ensure tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and in line with project procedures and technical specifications.
- Supervise deck crew, monitor equipment usage, and maintain communication with the Offshore Construction Manager and Field Engineers, ensuring accurate reporting and operational continuity.
- Coordinate cable lay, burial, and deck operations during shifts.
- Supervise deck crew, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Monitor use of cable lay equipment and track progress.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and safety procedures.
- Maintain shift logs, reports, and operational documentation.
Qualifications
- Preferably a Technical diploma or degree in Engineering or equivalent vocational training.
- Minimum 5 years of offshore experience in cable installation or marine construction.
- Experience supervising deck crews and shift‑based operations.
- Knowledge of offshore cable installation, ROV, trenching, and vessel operations.
- Experience with risk assessment, permit to work, and safety systems.
