This offshore role is based on rotation periods at sea. The role reports to the Lay Technician Supervisor and collaborates with multidisciplinary offshore teams.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor cable lay equipment such as tensioners and carousels.
  • Support cable loading, spooling, and subsea deployment activities.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs of equipment.
  • Follow offshore safety procedures and participate in risk assessments.
  • Maintain records of cable laying progress and operational data.
  • Assist in managing daily offshore cable installation activities and ensure safe operation of cable lay and deck equipment.

Requirements

  • Preferably a technical diploma or vocational training in engineering or marine technology.
  • Minimum five years of offshore experience in cable laying operations.
  • Experience with cable handling systems such as tensioners and carousels.
  • Knowledge of ROV operations, cable burial, and deck operations.
  • Experience with risk assessments and permit-to-work systems.
