This offshore role is based on rotation periods at sea. The role reports to the Lay Technician Supervisor and collaborates with multidisciplinary offshore teams.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor cable lay equipment such as tensioners and carousels.
- Support cable loading, spooling, and subsea deployment activities.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs of equipment.
- Follow offshore safety procedures and participate in risk assessments.
- Maintain records of cable laying progress and operational data.
- Assist in managing daily offshore cable installation activities and ensure safe operation of cable lay and deck equipment.
Requirements
- Preferably a technical diploma or vocational training in engineering or marine technology.
- Minimum five years of offshore experience in cable laying operations.
- Experience with cable handling systems such as tensioners and carousels.
- Knowledge of ROV operations, cable burial, and deck operations.
- Experience with risk assessments and permit-to-work systems.
