IFA Administrator/ Trainee Paraplanner

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

NJR Recruitment is working with a very well established and growing independent financial planning firm (award winning) in Worcester to recruit an experienced IFA Administrator/ Trainee Paraplanner.
This is a genuinely varied opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical and practical sides of financial planning. You will work closely with Financial Advisers, supporting the full client journey from meeting preparation and administration through to research, report writing and new business implementation.
Strong hands-on experience of Intelliflo / Intelligent Office is essential.
The Role
This role would suit either an experienced Financial Services Administrator looking to develop further into Paraplanning, or an experienced Paraplanner who enjoys being involved with clients, advisers and the progression of cases.
You will take ownership of a varied workload, moving comfortably between adviser support, client administration, technical research and paraplanning responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and progressing adviser workflows, cases, tasks and client actions through Intelliflo
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive client records, fact finds and documentation
- Preparing for new client, annual and interim review meetings
- Gathering and analysing client information
- Liaising directly with clients via telephone, email, Microsoft Teams and written correspondence
- Conducting financial planning research and analysis to support adviser recommendations
- Assessing client objectives, attitude to risk, capacity for loss, investment timescales and personal circumstances
- Undertaking research across pensions, investments, protection and tax-efficient planning
- Preparing clear, accurate and compliant suitability reports and annual review documentation
- Supporting cashflow modelling and other financial planning tools
- Carrying out investment and portfolio analysis, including performance, charges and rebalancing
- Comparing products, providers and financial solutions
- Preparing cost and charge comparisons and supporting calculations
- Submitting and tracking new business with providers and platforms
- Processing pensions, ISAs, GIAs, bonds and other investment business
- Processing fund switches, portfolio transfers, withdrawals and other client instructions
- Liaising with providers and platforms and following cases through to completion
About You
You will ideally have:
- Strong working experience of Intelliflo / Intelligent Office - essential
- Previous experience within an IFA or financial planning environment
- Experience supporting Financial Advisers and progressing client cases through to implementation
- Experience undertaking financial planning research and analysis
- Experience preparing suitability reports and/or client review documentation
- Good technical knowledge across pensions, investments, taxation, protection and financial planning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally
- Excellent attention to detail
Experience with the following would also be advantageous:
- Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- FE Analytics
- Dynamic Planner or similar research tools
- Cashflow modelling systems
- Risk profiling and portfolio analysis tools
- Provider platforms and online new business systems
- Investment performance analysis
- Portfolio rebalancing
