Paraplanner
Salary up to Β£42,000
Location: Derby
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Our client are a well-established Wealth Management Firm based in the Derby area and as a result of their ongoing growth they now have an excellent opportunity for a for a talented Paraplanner to join their well established and growing organisation.
The business specialise in providing holistic Financial Planning advice to a growing client bank consisting of high-net-worth individuals, you will need to have Industry related knowledge and experience in order to be considered for this position.
You will be working within a busy and vibrant team, the main function of the role will be providing Paraplanning support to 2 Financial Planners, to assist them in delivering a first-class service to all clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Level 4 qualified Paraplanner who enjoys producing high-quality, technically robust advice and wants to play an important role in delivering an exceptional client experience.
You will work across a broad range of financial planning areas, including retirement, investments, protection, IHT, trusts and business planning, while also providing essential administration support to ensure cases progress smoothly.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing personalised and meaningful suitability reports, undertaking detailed research and analysis, and supporting advisers throughout the advice process.
Working as part of a small and collaborative team, you'll manage multiple cases, work to deadlines and ensure all client work is accurate, compliant, and supported by the appropriate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare personalised suitability reports and letters that are clear, meaningful and client focused.
- Work efficiently to meet agreed deadlines and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Prepare recommendations across:
- Retirement planning, including transfers and drawdown.
- Investment planning.
- Protection.
- Inheritance Tax and Trust planning.
- Business planning.
- Ensure client work and documentation, including fact finds and illustrations, are accurate, compliant and supported by the relevant paperwork.
- Undertake comparative research to support client recommendations.
- Analyse client information and provide detailed technical commentary.
- Investigate client queries thoroughly and provide accurate responses.
- Provide administration support, including requesting additional Letter of Authority information and assisting with business submissions.
- Assist with the preparation of presentation packs and relevant client documentation.
- Work closely with advisers and colleagues to ensure a seamless client journey and consistently high-quality advice.
- Contribute positively to the wider team and support continuous improvements in processes and ways of working.
About You
We're looking for an experienced and technically capable Paraplanner who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
Essential:
- Level 4 CII Diploma in Financial Planning, or equivalent.
- Previous Paraplanning experience.
- Good understanding of financial products and services.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret records and provide detailed technical commentary.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage an effective workload across multiple cases.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good understanding of the administration and support elements of Paraplanning, including business submission and presentation pack preparation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive, collaborative and professional approach.
Desirable:
- Experience using FE Analytics.
- Experience using Voyant.
- Experience using Salesforce and/or Aptus.
- Experience across a broad range of financial planning areas.

Additional Information
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Based at the Allestree office.
- Overtime may occasionally be required during particularly busy periods, including the end of the tax year and year-end.
