NJR Recruitment are delighted to be working with a growing Financial Planning firm who are looking to recruit an experienced Paraplanning Team Leader to join their team in Wakefield.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paraplanner who is ready to take the next step in their career and combine hands-on technical paraplanning with day-to-day team leadership.
You will manage a small team of three Paraplanners, providing guidance, support and oversight while continuing to personally manage a caseload and produce high-quality suitability reports for a team of Financial Planners.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and supporting a team of three Paraplanners on a day-to-day basis
- Allocating workloads and monitoring deadlines to ensure cases are completed efficiently
- Providing guidance and technical support to the wider paraplanning team
- Reviewing work and maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
- Producing detailed and compliant suitability reports
- Supporting Financial Planners with technical research and recommendations
- Reviewing client information and financial planning requirements
- Liaising closely with Financial Planners to ensure recommendations are accurately reflected
- Helping to identify and implement improvements to paraplanning processes
- Supporting the development and training of more junior members of the team
- Maintaining strong compliance and attention to detail across all client work
About You
We're looking for an experienced Paraplanner who is confident working independently but also enjoys supporting and developing others.
Ideally, you will have:
- Strong experience within a Financial Planning / IFA environment
- Proven experience writing high-quality suitability reports
- Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and wider financial planning
- Previous experience mentoring, supervising or managing other Paraplanners would be advantageous
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach to improving processes and supporting the wider team
- Diploma qualified / Level 4 qualified would be a bonus, although this is not essential
