NJR Recruitment is working with a leading global risk advisory business that is looking for an experienced Account Handler/Team Leader to join its Bristol operation. The Role

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Account Handlers, creating clear expectations and supporting individual progression.
  • Set high standards for client service, ensuring proactive and consistent delivery.
  • Work closely with Account Executives, brokers and insurers to support renewal and placement strategies.
  • Develop strong client relationships and contribute insight-led risk advice.
  • Support the wider Bristol leadership agenda, including growth, retention and recruitment.
  • Promote best practice, strong governance and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment where colleagues can perform at their best.

About You

  • We're looking for someone who can demonstrate previous leadership experience, either through formal management or an informal/team leadership capacity.
  • Strong account handling experience across medium to large UK corporate and/or global accounts.
  • A consultative approach with the ability to understand risk and turn complex issues into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence using data to improve outcomes.
  • A genuine interest in coaching, developing and supporting others.

Desirable:

  • ACII or equivalent qualification, or actively working towards it.
  • Strong insurer relationships and confidence negotiating outcomes for clients.
  • A proven track record of developing engaged, high-performing teams.
  • A curious and innovative approach to improving client experience and operational efficiency.
