Are you an experienced commercial insurance professional with a strong background in managing complex corporate clients and leading high-performing teams? NJR Recruitment is working with a leading global risk advisory business that is looking to appoint an Account Executive Leader to its Bristol office. This is a senior opportunity for someone who enjoys combining people leadership, strategic client management and commercial growth, while remaining closely involved with some of the South West's largest and most complex organisations.
The Role
You will predominantly focus on leading and developing a high-performing team, while maintaining strategic involvement with key corporate clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead, coach and inspire a team of Account Executives, establishing clear standards and a high-performance culture.
- Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of large, complex and often multinational corporate clients.
- Act as an executive sponsor for key client relationships, ensuring high-quality and proactive service delivery.
- Lead insurance programme design and renewal strategy, including budgets and proposals.
- Shape placement strategies and negotiate fees and engagement terms.
- Build and maintain senior relationships with clients and insurers.
- Lead client meetings and presentations, including engagement with Boards and Risk Committees where required.
- Work alongside specialist brokers and service teams to deliver effective client outcomes.
- Play an active role within the Bristol Leadership Team, supporting the wider South West growth strategy.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Strong people leadership capability, with formal line management experience preferred.
- Proven experience servicing and advising large corporate clients, ideally within complex, multinational or multi-site environments.
- A strong track record of client retention and relationship development.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex risk issues into clear commercial recommendations.
- ACII qualification, either part or fully qualified, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong experience managing complex corporate insurance portfolios and maintaining high service standards.
- Evidence of driving growth through new business, cross-selling and developing existing client relationships.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach and the confidence to challenge the status quo.
