NJR Recruitment are currently working with a well-established supplier of greetings and gifts to the retail industry, who are now seeking an experienced Shipping & Imports Administrator to join their team in Bolton.

Role Purpose
You will be responsible for coordinating and managing the end-to-end import process, ensuring goods are transported efficiently from overseas suppliers to company warehouses or customer locations.
The role involves managing FOB shipments, coordinating container loadings, monitoring shipment progress, processing import documentation, managing goods intake, and liaising with suppliers and freight forwarders.
Key Responsibilities
- Import Shipment Management
- Manage and coordinate all import shipments from overseas suppliers.
- Arrange and monitor FOB (Free On Board) shipments from supplier origin through to final delivery.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure cargo readiness and booking requirements are met.
- Container Loading & Freight Coordination
- Coordinate container loading schedules with suppliers and logistics providers.
- Ensure container utilization is maximised and loading plans are cost effective.
- Goods Intake & Inventory Coordination
- Manage inbound goods schedules and warehouse delivery planning.
- Coordinate goods intake with warehouse teams to ensure efficient unloading and processing.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all import documentation is accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements
- Maintain complete shipment records and audit trails
- Manage UK & EU compliance for PPWR, EUDR, EPR, FSC etc to ensure goods are authorised to ship
Experience Required
- Previous experience in import logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or shipping administration.
- Strong understanding of FOB shipping terms and international freight processes.
- Experience managing container shipments
- Knowledge of import documentation and customs clearance procedures
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and management skills.
- Experience using sage is desirable
- Knowledge of customs regulations and international trade compliance
