Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Storage Systems Engineer to join their infrastructure team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Windows, UNIX, Network, and Database teams to design and implement solutions that meet shared storage requirements across a diverse and high-performance environment.
This role involves end-to-end ownership — from product selection and vendor management to architecture design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. A key responsibility will also include developing and maintaining robust data backup and recovery solutions, contributing to the firm’s overall business continuity strategy.
While the position has a strong design component, it remains a hands-on technical role requiring deep expertise in enterprise-grade storage systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and maintain optimized storage infrastructure to support critical business systems and trading operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure teams (Windows, UNIX, Network, Database) to define and implement shared storage solutions.
- Build and manage vendor relationships, including evaluation and selection of storage products and technologies.
- Design and implement scalable and performant storage networks (e.g., SAN, NAS) and data backup systems.
- Develop and manage data protection and disaster recovery strategies in alignment with business continuity plans.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize storage performance across multiple environments.
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation and operational procedures.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in storage systems administration and platform engineering.
- Proven track record in delivering, tuning, and maintaining enterprise-grade storage solutions.
- Strong working knowledge of storage protocols such as SMB, NFS, and S3.
- Solid understanding of both Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data backup and recovery solutions.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional technical team.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
