Senior Quantitative Developer – Commodities
A leading systematic investment firm is seeking a skilled Quantitative Developer to join its Commodities trading team . The firm leverages advanced data analytics, technology, and scientific research to drive decision-making across global markets. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of quantitative research, data engineering, and cloud infrastructure in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud-native systems for managing alternative datasets, generating risk and PnL reports, and supporting the research and trading lifecycle.
- Develop quantitative tools in close collaboration with researchers and engineers, including data pipelines for testing and integrating new data sources.
- Apply machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to solve problems in Agriculture, Metals, and Power markets.
- Monitor and improve existing research and trading infrastructure, identifying opportunities for performance, usability, and reliability enhancements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience in Python or another object-oriented programming language.
- Strong proficiency in Python’s data ecosystem, including libraries such as NumPy , Pandas , and Matplotlib .
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Proven track record building robust ETL pipelines , ideally using Airflow or a similar tool.
- Familiarity with best practices in software engineering: version control, testing, packaging, and code reviews.
- Quantitative problem-solving skills with an interest or background in financial markets; prior experience in Commodities is highly advantageous.
- Proactive and self-directed, with a collaborative mindset; mentoring experience is a plus.
