Niyo Hair & Beauty is on a mission to redefine the beauty and haircare space — blending culture, community, and cutting-edge tech. We are proud to have built the first AI Powered Salon for women with textured hair. We are looking for a creative, camera-confident Social Media & Content Intern to help us grow our brand online, connect with real people in Birmingham, and build content that actually stops the scroll.
This is not your average tea-making internship. You will be hands-on from day one — filming, editing, pitching ideas, and showing up to represent our brand both digitally and in real life.
- Street & Community Content
- Film fun, authentic vox pops around Birmingham — capturing real people's thoughts on people using Jorra, our try-on AI technology for hair, beauty, and style.
- Scout locations and engage members of the public with warmth and confidence.
- Be the face and voice behind on-the-ground content that brings the brand to life.
- TikTok & Short-Form Video
- Ideate, film, and edit creative TikTok campaigns that speak to our target audience.
- Stay on top of trending sounds, formats, and challenges — and help us ride the wave.
- Experiment with content angles, hooks, and storytelling to grow our TikTok presence.
- Identify and reach out to UGC creators, micro-influencers, and brand-aligned communities.
- Build relationships with potential content collaborators and brand advocates.
- Support the development of UGC briefs and seeding campaigns.
- General Social Media Support
- Help manage and schedule content across Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms.
- Engage with our community — responding to comments, DMs, and mentions.
- Track content performance and share insights with the team.
You are based in or can easily get to Birmingham for on-location shoots. You are comfortable on camera, filming yourself or others and know how to make it feel natural. You have a genuine passion for hair, beauty, culture, and social media. You live on TikTok and Instagram and have strong instincts for what works. You are a confident communicator who can approach strangers and make them feel at ease. You take initiative and don’t wait to be told; you bring the ideas. You are detail-oriented and can manage your time across a flexible hybrid schedule. You have some experience with video editing (CapCut, InShot, or similar tools).
This is a 10–12 week unpaid internship with some bonuses and perks. We ask for a minimum of 2–3 days per week, with flexibility built in. Some weeks will require on-location availability in Birmingham Centre and our salon in Digbeth for vox pop and content shoots, so local presence is essential.
Niyo Group is an equal opportunity employer. We actively welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
